Not only does EasyLobby fully automate the entire visitor sign in process with our visitor registration software, but we authenticate the validity of driver's licenses and passports.
This enhances visitor security by confirming that the ID is valid and not a fake. We also determine if the ID has expired. A message in our visitor monitoring software lets the lobby attendant know if an ID is either expired or not valid.
We validate licenses and passports one of two ways during a scan. One is by scanning with an Optical Character Scan, such as the ScanShell scanner shown on the left. This scan essentially uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology to extract the textual data from the license.
The scan process can take a full picture of the license or passport document. We can also capture the photo of the visitor and put that on the Visitor ID badges.
For a passport, the optical passport scanner extracts data from the MRZ (Machine Readable Zone, which is the section on the bottom with text and characters).
With all organizations more concerned about security and protecting their employees and guests from unwanted visitors, it makes sense to use EasyLobby visitor management techniques to validate licenses and passports of your visitors.
