Learning About Visitor Management Solutions

EasyLobby visitor management was recently installed at The American General Center in Houston, Texas. This is a large commercial multi-tenant facility owned by AIG.

The facility uses EasyLobby ID card software to provide a visitor ID badge to all visitors at the facility, which consists of five buildings with approximately 75 tenants, mainly accounting firms, law firms and insurance firms.

The facility has a total of 105 floors with about 2 million square feet of office space. About 300 to 500 visitors a day are provided visitor badges with EasyLobby visitor systems.

Visitors enter the buildings at one of seven security desks for guest sign in at an EasyLobby visitor system. Each visitor badge includes a barcode, which is used by visitors to access turnstiles before entering the facility.

The turnstiles are controlled by an access control system called Picture Perfect from UTC Fire & Security. EasyLobby is tightly integrated with this, and other access control systems so that EasyLobby's badge ID software can be used by visitors to access doors, turnstiles or elevators controlled by the access system.

One of the advantages of EasyLobby's integration is that the visitor log is deleted from the access control system once that visitor has checked out. This prevents the database in the access system from getting too large.

Like a number of other commercial multi-tenant facilities, guests at The American General Center must present a visitor ID such as a driver's license that is scanned. The visitor pass for that guest includes their photo as well as the name of the tenant being visited, the building and the floor.
